Dartmouth Ocean Technologies recently provided a stable V-Wing for GeoSpectrum’s “Towed Echo Repeater” that simulates the acoustic signature of various types of sound producing devices in the ocean (such as submarines). The towed echo repeater is a very cost-effective tool for Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) training, where an operator can gain experience on various aspects of hunting submarines (without the need for an actual submarine in the area).

The system relies on the V-Wing 460 to keep the transducer towed at a fixed depth. The operational depth depends upon cable out and vessel speed.

Dartmouth Ocean Technologies Inc. (DOT) is a fast-growing ocean technology company located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada and Dartmouth, MA, USA. The company focuses on ocean sensor platforms and microfluidic Lab-On-a-Chip (LOC) ortho phosphate and environmental DNA (eDNA) sensors.
